Designer feature coming soon!
Oh, and I did get the interview back from my first featured designer. Just waitin' on pictures and I'll get it posted! Be sure to come back and take a peek and have a chance to win a fabulous boutique...... Ha ha I'm not telling!!!
What's next.....
I want to thank everyone for thier prayers. Dave is flying out to California tomorrow evening to spend time with his family and attend the memorial service. Which is Friday at 1:00. We'll be picking him up from the airport Sunday morning and then heading to church.
Easter is coming! I'm not sure about the rest of you, but it sure did sneak up on me! I had starting working on a super-cute outfit for Joy, corset styled top, peasant top, and ruffle pants. Then, not sure what happened; life, homeschooling, flower girl dresses, etc...... Somehow I ran out of time! I figured I could whip up something else really quick. Ha ha ha.....
I had a cute princess bunny iron-on that I'd been holding onto for something. A comfy upcycled tee shirt dress came to mind. So I pulled out some cute knits including an adorable tiara print and got to work. Got all the pieces cut, layed them out on the table to start pinning, then, something that one should never do with my kiddos, I went to go start dinner prep.......
Well, Joy, uh, wanted to help. This almost never ends well. My kids just seem to have a knack for making messes, trouble, you name it. There, in all it's "glory", marker scribble on one skirt piece. Ugh.
Now I'm on attempt #3 for her Easter dress. Yes, I am aware that there is only 4 days till Easter. Pray that this one will actually work, or else. :) Not that the girl is actually hurting in the dress department, and I'm sure that I could find something in her closet for Easter Sunday, but there's something so fun about a new dress.
Hope you all have a fabulous Easter celebrating with family and friends. We are going to an egg hunt on Saturday. What are your plans?

How to NOT 'pay it forward'.......
This is, I'm sure, going to be a sensitive subject for many of you.
We just learned last night, that Dave's cousin's husband was killed by a drunk driver. I am saddened by this and found myself getting teary-eyed many times last night. I pray that she'll be strong and rely on faith in God to get through this incredibly difficult time. I pray that she'll find a way to break the news to her little ones that daddy won't be coming home. I pray that she has a good support system around her to help her out as she faces the next step of raising those precious children by herself. And I pray that hearing this will encourage at least one person to think twice before hopping in the car after having a few too many.
Drunk driving is so senseless. It indeed invokes the 'butterfly effect'. But not in a good way!!! So many lives are going to be impacted by this. His wife, their 3 small children, each and every family member, friends, etc... Get the picture. All because one person was stupid and decided to get behind the wheel.
I can hear my little ones' voices in my head... "Momma, we don't say stupid, it's not a nice word." I know, I know, but in this case, it really applies.
Please, please, I can't ask this enough...
If you know someone who has a tendancy to drive after a night of drinking, please make yourself available to be a designated driver.

Friday Food Finds.....
It's time again for my weekly "what's for dinner?" post. I was still haven't tried the chicken dish I shared about from last week. It's been a week. Those of you that homeschool small children can, I'm sure, identify.
This week, we are going totally kid-friendly as we are having 2 friends, Ella and Josie, over to play with Isaiah and Joy tonight. I'm thinking mac and cheese. What kid doesn't like that!?!
I'm off to scour PW's site for a baked mac 'n cheese for a little change-up from the blue box. I'm sure she has one...... :)
How about you? Are you going as fancy and gourmet as we are?

Going green.....
I just completed.... by just, I mean last night ;), this adorable upcycled tee shirt dress. The pattern is from Lil Blue Boo. It is so precious. I got the too-cute-for-words mermaid tee from Old Navy. Isn't this precious! Joy seems to like it and there's no shocker there as this girl would wear dresses everyday if I let her and I like the ease and comfort of a simple pull on dress. Lots more to come, this may be my new favorite pattern. Jury is still out..... ;)
I'm linking up (a little late) to....

Too early???
Okay, I'll confess straight off that I don't do well with spiders. By not well, I mean that I am terrified!! Not long after Dave and I were married, he thought it would be funny to chase me with one in a napkin that he had 'taken care of' for me. Needless to say I ended up in a corner in tears, begging him to "get it away, get it away!!!". He doesn't chase me with spiders anymore.... :) Although, that was 10 years ago, I'm getting better, no really, I am.
So this morning, our friend Clay, who is staying with us till he gets married in April, lets me know that there is a big spider in the tub of his bathroom. Huh????? When I ask him why he didn't do anything about it, the response I get is......
"it's too early'
Too early??? It's Clay, so I assume he's joking. That's just something he'd do. So, silly me that I am, I go look! Lo and behold, there is indeed a BIG spider in the tub. So I wake up Dave. After the speal.... "I'll get it in a second, I'm sleeping" "But it will move, please get it while we know where it is!" "how big could it be?" yada yada yada....
I am vindicated, when he confirms it was a very big spider.
My big morning excitement. Veronica, I hope you have no problem killing spiders. :)

What's for dinner?
I think that every Friday I will share some fabulous recipe I've found. I'd love to hear about your favorites too! Something that you've tried that's been a big hit, clever ideas for preschooler friendly food, and even things that you've found that you want to try!!
A few weeks ago, I made the most amazing Bacon & Mushroom pasta. Even the kiddos asked for seconds! I found the recipe over at Pioneer Woman. If you haven't seen her blog yet, you are missing out! Incredible recipes, photography, and homeschooling tips. The link is over in my blog list. Go.... now! Wait, finish reading this first, then go!
I found this link on her blog today to another great food blog. I REALLY want to try this one. Too bad I'm the only one in this house who will eat scallops!

She can fly......
I am excited to be entering my first link party! I just recently finished this adorable Tink quilt for Joy's 4th birthday. I am thrilled with how it turned out and the Princess loves it. :) The fun part is that the purple gingham patches were salvaged from MY baby blanket so it's nice to be able to pass part of it down to her. And the color was a perfect match.
This is just half-way done. I am so loving the fun colors. I didn't really use a pattern, just kind of fiddled with the layout of the blocks till I got what I wanted. :)
Finished product, check out the cute Tink applique in the center! Here it is fresh from the dryer, full of all that fabulous wrinkly quilted comfiness!

Hello All!
So, I took the plunge and FINALLY started a family blog. This will be my spot to share with you fun recipes I've found, crafting projects and tutorials, cute things my kids do, and generally all the 'organized chaos' going on in the Caldeira family at the time!!
I'm going to just jump right in with Happy St. Patricks Day!!! So far, we don't have our green. Well, Joy does, as she is wearing her comfy flannel nightgown that I made her for Christmas with green and pink trees.
Last night, I made rainbow cupcakes hoping to save some for a fun snack today, of the dozen I made, there are now..... 5!!! Not sure what happened there? ;) Guess we will incorporate baking into our homeschool lesson today!

Are these cute or what!!??
Well, that's it for now. I will "attempt" to keep up with this. I have fun plans for jazzing up this blog too so stay tuned for that. Comments are welcome at any time, I'd love to hear what you have to say as well. Thanks for stopping by my little corner of organized chaos. :)
